Senior Full-Stack Developer

Sonar Group is looking for a Senior Full-Stack Developer with extensive experience scoping, building, and implementing world-class web platforms, to join our Melbourne based team. The role is for a passionate senior developer who is an expert PHP / Wordpress developer, along with experience in Drupal, Magento, back-end systems, service integrations, and technical solutions architecture. Duties

THE ROLE

This role will help lead the technical development for Sonar Group, as well as require the person to implement and maintain their code for larger programmes, whilst being supported by our FED and wider Sonar team as required. At the end of the day we are seeking an excellent developer that is keen to be part of a growing consultancy, and make their mark as an integral part of our team, not just another ‘resource’ within a larger agency.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Be a problem solver and a technologist at heart, bringing a creative, analytical, adaptable, logical and thorough approach.
  • Lead the technical team to develop highly scalable, high-quality code across the business.
  • Structuring, customising and building WordPress sites, based upon requirements and designs.
  • Ensuring all technical solutions across the business follow latest design patterns, coding standards, and best practices.
  • Ensuring technical solutions are optimised and make proper use of caching, minimisation and other optimisation techniques.
  • Being a leader in the business across source code management workflows, DevOps and development practices
  • Working with infrastructure and hosting providers, including cloud providers, to design client solutions.
  • Liaise with 3rd party providers to understand technical requirements, define how the clients can best utilise services, and to design technical solutions.
  • Be an excellent communicator, both verbally and written, and can talk to senior technical clients, application consultants, and infrastructure experts – as well as your immediate office team colleagues

Experience

  • At least 8+ years commercial or relevant experience working with a combination of:
    • PHP5 or later
    • PHP Frameworks (e.g. Laravel)
    • WordPress and creating custom themes
    • JavaScript Frameworks / Libraries (eg. Angular.js, React.js)
    • HTML/CSS and Pre-Processors (e.g Sass or LESS)
    • MySQL or/and MariaDB including data migrations and optimizations
    • Database Design (SQL and NoSQL)
  • Working and collaborating within a team environment
  • Experience working with Git and an understanding of best practices for managing and reviewing code within source control services such as BitBucket
  • Experience with DevOps and automating build processes.
  • Exposure, use, and understanding of Google Analytics
  • Experience with cloud environments
  • Experience with Drupal and Magento
  • Comfortable with managing and leading client interaction and enhancing those relationships

Analytics Consultant

You are an experienced data analyst looking to further your career and help manage multiple, simultaneous client activity for medium-sized client organisations. You are keen to gain more experience on a range of technical and campaign based projects (data and insights programs, websites, social marketing campaigns) and help manage your client’s expectations, and report the project progress against agreed milestones.

Duties

You are accountable, responsible, organised, detailed and a clear communicator. You are also a strategic and creative thinker, you love data, and relish solving clients’ problems. The successful candidate will not only be a ‘numbers detective’ and understand the nuances of different tools in generating meaningful reporting, but also be a valued member of the team in being client-facing and able to integrate with a variety of stakeholders.

  • Perform analysis on quantitative data, supports and organizes qualitative research
  • Develops documentation relating to tagging specifications and implements tags where necessary
  • Prepare reports and summaries based on analysis
  • Deliver presentations of research findings to clients
  • Prepare estimates to support specific research projects
  • Support continued development of new research products and processes
  • Interface with Account, Client and other Stakeholders to request and share information
  • Manage digital performance campaigns including Paid Search including keyword strategy, account set-up and ongoing optimisation
  • Manage of Facebook including audience targeting and ongoing management and optimisation
  • Lead measurement thinking, including return on investment

Experience

  • 2+ years relevant experience
  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills
  • Strong organizational and presentation skills
  • Strong focus on customer satisfaction
  • Knowledge of planning and executing qualitative marketing research methodologies and facilitation techniques
  • Ideally 2-3 years experience with Omniture, Site Core, Web Trends, Coremetrics or Google Analytics
